The Athens-Limestone Public Library offers a free book delivery service to homebound residents.

Large and regular print books are available to those Library patrons who are not able to travel to the Library. Materials are provided by the Athens-Limestone Public Library and are sent via the US Postal Service, Limestone Council on Aging, Hospice, other community organizations, friends, or family free of charge.

Nooks For Check-Out: At Your Doorstep Expands

Are you or someone you know using the At Your Doorstep service? This program delivers books to the homebound residents of Athens City and Limestone County. One of the newest ways we make books available to homebound patrons is through eReaders.
After completing the user agreement, the At Your Doorstep Participants will have a Nook Simple Touch loaned for 3 weeks. The eReader will come pre-loaded with eBooks so that you don’t have to have an Internet connection to use it. The pre-loaded books will be selected with your preferences in mind.
Children in the At Your Doorstep program may be loaned a Nook Color to take advantage of the picture books in the eBook collection.

Eligibility:

• Athens City or Limestone County Resident

• Athens-Limestone Public Library card holder

• Unable to access the Library due to a temporary or long-term physical or medical disability.
